IMO, since the CIA controls all of the major media, this is a warning shot for Zelenski that he needs to be more "cooperative." Or maybe he's outlived his usefulness, and they're ready to throw him under the bus.
I think the second. It was clear since the beginning that Zelensky is just a puppet which will be replaced when needed.
