My 50th birthday is coming up this August, and I’ve been feeling so many things.

Grateful. Reflective. Amazed that I’ve come this far.
And, if I’m honest, also a bit tender and tired — because this milestone carries everything that came before it.

This is me with my first cat Rizhi (Ginger), around the time I finished my PhD. He passed away just before my final presentation. This photo holds a lot: love, loss, and a quiet beginning of everything that came after.
