Earthing - The Natural Way To Good Health
I enjoy walking barefoot. It just makes me feel liberated and happy. It is because it actually does a lot of good. It re-connects us to our mother Earth, from which we have been artificially separated. There is scientific evidence that direct contact with the electric charge of the Earth, also known as earthing (grounding), balances body energy and aids in the reduction of inflammation, which causes insomnia, obesity, mental disorders, skin disorders, immunodeficiency, digestive system issues, cancer, and diabetes. Walking barefoot relieves pain and stress.
Walking barefoot has a positive effect on the human microbiome because we get beneficial soil bacteria such as those from the genus Streptomyces. I read a study which found that the rise in colon cancers is likely due to the fact that we no longer benefit from the close contact with soil bacteria.
Most of us suffer from at least one of the disorders listed above because we have lost touch with Earth's natural healing power. Using it again can help us heal at least partially.
What should you do to harness the healing power of the Earth?
Find a way to leave the soon-to-be city prisons and relocate to rural areas where nature will surround you. If you already own a house, take advantage of every opportunity to walk barefoot in your garden. If you live in a flat, go to the nearest park and walk on the grass as often as possible.
I also recommend natural water walking.
You must have a clean reservoir, lake, river, or sea nearby. Even if the water isn't particularly warm, a short walk in it is beneficial to your energy balance as well as your leg muscles.
Some 20 studies to date have reported intriguing evidence of wide and significant physiological improvements when the body is grounded vs. non-grounded. The research, along with numerous anecdotal reports, demonstrates that Earthing clearly deserves inclusion in the clinical practice of preventive, alternative, and lifestyle medicine and has great potential to render these approaches more effective.
