An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Of course, you've heard the saying, "An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away," but you may not have realized it's based on real evidence. The simple apple (Malus domestica) is a medicine, and eating one or more a day will keep you away from the doctor for sure. Apples are high in pectin, a fiber that benefits the gut microbiome and thus your overall health. Apples also have abundance of phytochemicals such as quercetin, catechin, rutoside (rutin or sophorin), phloridzin, and chlorogenic acid, all of which are powerful antioxidants. You might be surprised to learn that apples are also a good source of another antioxidant - vitamin C. While less vitamin A is also present. Apple peel contains a lot of these beneficial substances so DON’T PEEL!

What is the medicinal value of apples?

  • cancers
Several studies have specifically linked apple consumption with a reduced risk for cancer, especially lung cancer.

100 g of fresh apples has an antioxidant activity equivalent to 1,500 mg of vitamin C, and that whole-apple extracts inhibit the growth of colon- and liver- cancer cells in vitro in a dose-dependent manner. ..Natural antioxidants from fresh fruit could be more effective than a dietary supplement.

  • cardiovascular disease
Intake of apples is related to a decreased risk of thrombotic stroke. So apples must be added to the list of important foods for people with so called COVID-19 vaccines. I will update my infogram ASAP.

  • asthma

  • diabetes

  • gut health, which means general health

  • help to detox the body

  • brain disorders

  • vitamin C and rutin are beneficial to people who have increased capillary permeability and fragility: skin, mucous membrane, and retinal hemorrhages, hematuria (blood in the urine), allergic and inflammatory reactions. *I had some of these problems when lived in Bulgaria and there is a medicine called Rutascorbin that can help. These issues have returned as a result of the stress I am experiencing, but this medicine is not available in Germany. While looking for the ingredients, I discovered that a few apples a day will do the same thing because they contain the same ingredients as the medicine. I love apples, and while they have become increasingly expensive, they can still be found for a lower price here and there. Apples, of course, provide the additional benefits mentioned above.

  • common cold

Apples are even more powerful 🧐

  • Cholera is an acute diarrheal illness caused by infection of the intestine with Vibrio cholerae bacteria.
Apple polyphenol extract inhibits biological and enzymatic activities of cholera toxin and can be used in a precautionary and therapeutic manner in the treatment of cholera patients.

  • Apple a day also keeps aging away!
